Joey vs. Juanita

Joey Pepperoni
Pioneer, Mandaluyong
Here's a shot of the menu. Food is good and affordable. The staff are friendly and accommodating . Some of their items though (rice meals) you'd have to wait a little longer for (well, that time that our project team went there - maybe there was a queue, it was, after all, lunch time).A left-over brown bag doubles as lamp cover...
And wall paintings look like they're watching you eat... (One, two, three, four, five foreheads!)
Carbonara, bread, and chicken fingers...
Meatballs...
And pesto pasta...
We went back on a date and ordered salad, pasta, and pizza, and had a nice time again. Since we were repeat customers and we had this flyer, we were given a free dessert - cherry on vanilla ice cream on a brownie. Yummy!

Cafe Juanita
Kapitolyo, Pasig
Their table setting.
Everywhere are decor upon decor that are also for sale.
Here's a nice spot on the second floor for lovebirds. :)
But our project team came for the food so... here's fried lapu-lapu...
And adobo... They thoroughly enjoyed the cassava cake!
I was content with the free food :) But I just might come back on August 2? :)

Anyway, both restaurants are very nice to take your special someone to. More affordable at Joey's. But if you're after a unique experience, go to Juanita's. Although, after you've been there once, I don't know... unless you got served something you think you'll never get tired of or will never find anywhere else, then treat yourself and your partner. But now that times are a bit rough, with food prices sky-rocketing alongside fuel prices, and with the push to hold back on rice consumption, it may be a good idea to try to save some.

My personal choice- I'd eat at Joey's more than at Juanita's.

Spot the 'Huwaat?!?!'

Ok, first up: there are some billboards of these that have the same mistake. Some of their posters in some malls have already been corrected...Was channel surfing one time and behold... it could also be a typo, but it's still amusing. Not saying my grammer and speeling are impeccable- everyone makes mistakes...
Even the top honcho of a top, multi-awarded IT-slash-BPO-slash-contact-services firm here in the Philippines makes mistakes... She's free to say it was her assistant who typed it wrong...
You too, feel free to send me more "sightings" so we can post them here.

Happy Anniversary!

Plus this is my 200th post on this blog. Woo! So I'd like to thank the biggest inspiration I've had the past year... by a song :) It was 2005 since I last wrote a song and I don't know when the last time was that I wrote a song that's not a bitter-sweet or really-bitter love song. All thanks to my inspiration... L-l-like the song, I hope you do... Yes, the song! For L-l-le-let's get on with it, shall we? Closer, come closer... L-l-lyrics first...

MORE THAN I LET YOU KNOW

Love has come my way before
Then it couldn't stay no more
When least expected, this new chance,
You swept in to the rescue

Still amazed at how the stars
Had aligned and then conspired
To gift you to this fool aspiring
Never tiring just for you

No doubt, I'm not
The perfect match for you but
No indecision,
Though times I've said it few,
How much I love you so-
Much more than I let you know

There were times that I'd be scared
Losing you, may I be spared
My happiness revolves around
Your happiness delivered

Still I can't
Be everything to you but
Not one condition
So that I'll be true to
How much I love you so
Much more than I let you know

(Instrumental)

No doubt, I'm not
The perfect match for you but
No indecision,
Though times I've said it few,
How much I love you so-
Much more than I let you know

Wanted: Great Movie

Go watch Wanted now! Starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. 4.5 out of 5 stars!!! Wow, and I wanna get the comic book from where this started... Not since V for Vendetta, I think, did I really, really like a movie. And this one is also a comic book adaptation... Hmm... Oh, Stardust was good too but not wow good.
