Powder puff goyls

From now until the end of the year, we'll see truck loads of parties and events that have people donning costumes. Just this morning a friend in California asked me my opinion about two ideas they had for their Halloween party. They were thinking about going as the Desperate Housewives or as mail-order-brides (wedding dresses made from envelopes and packaging material possibly. The photo below of men dressed up as the Powerpuff girls is quite amusing. How about you, what are you wearing for your Halloween or Christmas party? You're welcome to send in photos :)

Just Thunder

No, no, no, it wasn't THAT funny at all. It was just... nice. War movie in a comedy movie. Nice that Stiller and Black and Downey Jr. could all get together for this movie. Nice effort all around but it wasn't laugh-out-loud funny. I think I snickered once or twice. I was surprised with what happened to the war movie's director though. And I didn't right away think that the war hero would be... Oh, oh! And only near the end did I remember and realize that the big-shot, potty-mouthed, dancing producer was Tom Cruise!
But no matter, even Downey Jr. acting and looking black in the war movie didn't do it for me. On a more positive note, Tropic Thunder cut The Dark Knight's 4-weekend reign in the U.S. box-office charts. 3 stars out of 5 tops.
The other day, very early in the morning, there was a thunder-storm here in Manila. It sounded like there was a war going on. Scary and weird- now that was thunder!

Online ad. Nothing really wrong with the spelling, just a "Huh?" for me.

Food Trip!

So first we go to Katipunan where we find Cravings. Across Ateneo Gate 1 and alongside McDonalds, the building it's housed in has been there since, um,... Before 1987? Oh, you wouldn't get it. I must've eaten there only twice before. My third time- we had dinner there, a month or so ago. Here's their table setting. And the drinks that we ordered: Mango shake, iced tea, and water.
And they have this promo- when you ordered a specific item on the menu, it comes with buffet salad! And there I was, the non-vegetarian.
Last month, friends from the office and I went around the Quiapo, Divisoria, and Binondo areas to look for small give-away trinkets for our Department's Town-hall meeting. For lunch we went to this Chinese restaurant in a two-story apartment building, much like how Aysee's is in Pasig.
The food was quite affordable so we sort of binged. And it was my first time tasting cua-pao! Nobody told me before it was like the siopao bread without any filling!
My companions also ordered chicken feet. Obviously, I didn't try it. Dessert was a Baker's Fair square, warm treat that I forgot the name of. No, it isn't hopia. Aargh! But I know I've tasted it before and I've seen a Baker's Fair at Greenhills too.
On to Metrowalk where a new restaurant has sprung up since I was last there. Carlo's Pizza.
There's the menu cover... And here are a couple of wrapped hotdogs. Unique, huh? :) Tasty too!
Fried Mozzarella.
Lasagna that's in an unconventional round dish.
My drink - mango shake. Gives you an idea of what my favorite drink is...
The wall decor across our table...
Pizza with chicken slices...
And still nearer to where I live, an Ice Cream store! I'll visit again after the recording sessions...
They also serve pizza. No they don't sell the Sto. Nino statuettes.
Different kinds of ice cream... on a stick, in a cup, in a cone, sundaes...
Not called the Ice Cream Store for nothing. Ice Cream store - along P.Tuazon, left side of the road when you're headed east.

Mansociety - Liv and Luv (2003)

I have to try and grab a nicer copy of these videos and pictures... Although, they are from 5 years ago and taken from my old Panasonic video camera... Where is my old camera and the tapes?
Anyhow, Mansociety was an internet barkada (clique) founded in September 11, 2001 - yes, that's the date. I think founder Andrew was smoking a cig in a coffee place one night just before news broke of the terrorist attack in the U.S. and said "Why don't I form an internet barkada named Mansociety?" And the rest, as they say, and good thing not as sorrowfully remembered (if at all? *ahwehwehwe*), is history.
One youtube video here.
And another one here.
You can also visit my multiply site.
For this concert party, a couple of people from radio (AM not FM though) hosted with a contact center agent and a doctor.
The capacity of the Entertainment Hall in Robinson's Galleria was 600. But only 350 guests came. So there were more than enough beer to go around! :)
There was also a contest for the best dressed. Or was it star of the night? Or for people who really stood out with what they were wearing...
And here's a guest performance by someone from my office, singing an Ogie Alcasid medley. So there- a concert party almost six years ago... More pictures of the group in future entries.

Found the above link of a forum where members send in funny "FAIL" pictures. Below are some samples. Click on the entry title to jump to the forum.Below is something you might see your grandmother doing...
Be careful what you ask for...
May the farce be with you too.
Broken windows, bad vista.
Why would anyone get a tattoo like this?
And a couple of baby-handling instructions...
I would like to thank this site for making me smile/laugh :)

Oh (NO!) Boy!

I am very interested to find out the sales figures for this product because whoever thought about selling Boy Abunda perfume is... good thing I'm not the violent type. Ok, let's think of good things about this product... It could actually smell nice. The packaging is black with some rainbow-colored tv-stripes. Um, what else? The bottle could be unbreakable. You could be blind and never see this billboard. Geez, sorry, but for me, this ad and product is a FAIL. Speaking of which...
